Carta de Cata, presidenta de Tierra de Amani

Tierra de Amani celebrated a wonderful day of Sports and Games in Tanzania Copy

This year we celebrated it at Mkomongo School, in the Kibosho area on the way up to Kilimanjaro, in a small primary school with very few resources, where 175 boys and girls study.

As we do every year, we always start the morning by handing out the T-shirts. Afterwards, we begin the warm-up before moving on to the races and various games. Mid-morning, we hand out the first snack with juice and muffins, and after this time enjoying the delicious food, we split the school into two groups: the older grades play football and basketball, and the younger ones rotate through different games: hula hoop, jump rope, throwing velcro balls at a target, mini-basketball, matching memory games, and cup towers; we also do races with rubber ducks and a relay race with buckets, water, and sponges. Finally, with the whole school gathered together, we play the "tug of war" game, which is always a big hit with all ages. At the end of the morning, we give out another snack of juice and pastries so the children go home with full bellies.

As in previous years, the contributions from OUR SPONSOR DR. RACHEL and her friends allowed us to buy the T-shirts, which were yellow this year, and are purchased right in Moshi to support the local economy. THANK YOU, RACHEL!!

We would also like to THANK everyone who collaborated with your contributions, which not only made it possible to celebrate this incredibly fun event, but are also used to work on the Endelea Project supporting vulnerable families. This year we celebrate 20 years of social work in Tanzania, making it a very special moment for Tierra de Amani.

Asante Sana!! Thank you very much!
